How to Turn Windows Firewall On or Off or set program permission on Windows 7 and Windows 8
Windows Firewall can help
prevent hackers or malicious software from gaining access to your
computer through the Internet or network.
This instruction will show you how to turn Windows Firewall on or off for testing on Windows 7 and Windows 8.
This is a temporary measure and firewall should be turned back on and configured properly to let the Manager software communicate over the Internet and retrieve info from Google Maps
To access the firewall settings:
Go to the Control panel
Click on the start button , then select Control panel
click on firewall
You can change setting by selecting "Turn Windows Firewall on or off"
Setting Firewall for Software access
You can grant permission to specific software using the flowing options
Click on "Allow a program trough Windows Firewall"
You can select from the list or click on "Allow another program..."
and select the software that are not listed in the current list.
ONce you have added the new program, set the software to permit full access
If the TRipLogik Manager software is open, close and restart it.
If you still experience the error, you might have to uninstall and reinstall the Manager and redo the procedure above.
In some cases, you might also require rebooting your PC. Third party firewall from anti virus can work differently.
