If the Instrument setting is deactivated
Reason 1:
Your instrument is not connecting to the PC
If the instrument does not show as connected (bottom right)
It will be impossible to edit the internal setting or delete data from it.
Connect the instrument, Close the settings windows and reopen the settings menu.
Reason 2 :
You are not logged in with the proper user
The Manager will prevent a user from editing or deleting an other users data or instrument
If the settings is not working, (other than reason 1) You are not logged in with the proper user.
Only the admin user can edit everyone else's data or instrument.
If you are not logged in as the administrator, the USERS menu will be gray out (deactivated)
This is because a user that is not an and administrator do not have permission to edit, modify or delete data from the central database or other users.
What to do
1- Logout out of the Manager
2- Login with admin user
In the login screen, you can scroll through the list of users.
Select the Admin and login to the Manager.
Since one of the Users is the main Admin, and it can't be deleted, one of them will work as the admin.
Once you are logged in as the Main Admin, Click on the Users menu
Item 1 (image below)
The Padlock indicated the Main user. This is the owner of the TripLogik Account.
This user can't be deleted as it's your TripLogik Map account ID.
Item 2 (image below)
This is the administrator Privilege selector.
By checking this setting, it will make the selected user an Admin.
Be aware that any Admin can access everyone's data. Including erasing data, changing passwords, deleting instrument inside other users instrument.
IMPORTANT NOTE
- Deleting the database file on your PC has no impact on the instrument’s memory, and vice versa.
This action does not erase the data stored in the instrument. - Erasing data in the instrument does not delete the data already stored in the PC database.
When the Manager erases the instrument’s data, it does not remove the data immediately.
In reality, it instructs the instrument to format its memory the next time it is powered by an electrical source other than a computer, for example when it is plugged into a vehicle.
This behavior makes it possible, in case of error, to cancel the deletion as long as the instrument has not yet been powered in the vehicle. Since the data is still physically present but not yet officially erased, memory-level alerts may continue to appear temporarily.
Validation Test
Plug the instrument into a USB charger (wall outlet or cigarette lighter) for 3 to 4 minutes.
Then repeat the test: the data will have been completely erased.
