Parallels is an extremely common software among Mac users, in order to make their computer compatible with Windows applications.
Essentially, Parallels runs Windows in a "window" of your Mac computer in order to use a multitude of PC software. Unlike bootcamp, you do not need to reboot your computer from one version to another both operating systems. Windows works inside the Mac operating system like any other application.
If you have a new Mac using M1 or M2 processos, this is the recommended solution.
VMware Fusion player VMWareFusion
A solution similar to Parallels. VMWare Fusion Player, allows users to use Windows directly from macOS, without rebooting. Unlike Parallels, Fusion offers less support and helps install Windows. If you have a new Mac using M1 or M2 Processors Fusion player 13 is the latest version required.
Although VMWare offers a free version, installation is a bit more work, and you need to be 'technically comfortable as this is not an easy task.
Boot Camp Apple.com
Boot Camp is the solution of Apple. Unlike Parallels, with this solution, the user must restart his computer in Windows mode. If you do not regularly use Windows applications, this solution could be the most economical. However, you must use Windows 10 version because at the moment version 11 is not supported. If you have a new Mac using M1 or M2 Processors this alternative is not for you as Boot Camp was removed by Apple as it will not work anymore.
