Undoing an Erase (Undelete)
If you accidentally initiated an erase, you can cancel it—as long as the instrument has not been reconnected to your vehicle in the meantime.
As long as the instrument has not been powered by the OBDII port, the erase command has not yet been executed and can still be cancelled using the Manager software.
This is in place to ensure you can undulate.
How to proceed:
Open the Manager software and connect the instrument to your computer.
Go to the Settings menu > Instrument Index tab.
Use the Cancel delete trips inside the instrument function button.
Unplug the instrument , wait a few seconds and reconnect the instrument.
❗Important – How the Erase Command Works
The Manager software does not directly erase your TL1000’s data.
Instead, it sends an erase command that the instrument will execute the next time it is powered in a vehicle.
Note:
You cannot perform or cancel an erase unless your user account has administrator privileges in the Manager software.
⚠️ WARNING – Risk of Permanent Data Loss
If you connect your instrument to any power source other than a computer (PC)—such as a USB outlet, portable battery, or directly to your vehicle—
the instrument will automatically execute the erase command.
➡️ In that case, the data will be permanently lost and cannot be recovered.
⚙️ What happens when the device is connected to a vehicle after an erase command?
When the TL1000 is connected to the vehicle following an erase request:
It detects that it is not connected to a PC.
It immediately executes the erase command.
The device starts formatting its internal memory, which may take a few minutes.
During this process:
The instrument is not functional.
No data will be recorded, even if the vehicle is in motion.
✅ Once the formatting is complete
After the formatting is finished:
The TL1000 will connect to GPS satellites.
It will then be ready to resume trip recording as normal.
