It is a know fact that if OneDrive is synchronizing databases (like Access or SQLite) it will cause file corruption and system locks. These programs continuously write data into their file, which triggers conflicts with the constant background synchronization process of OneDrive.
Since the Manager uses an SQL database, One Drive will cause issues.
To prevent data loss or software issues we suggest one of the solutions below.
To prevent data loss or software issues we suggest one of the solutions below.
Technical Risks of using One Drive
- File locking: The database becomes inaccessible because the service attempts to sync it while it is active in use.
- Irreversible corruption: Data can vanish or the file can become completely unreadable.
Best Practices
- Move the files: Transfer database files (e.g.,
.accdb,.db,.sqlite) to a local folder on your computer that is not synced by OneDrive (likeC:\MyDatabases). - Backups: Make regular backup copies outside of the cloud to prevent any data loss.
What we suggest
1- Move the data file of the Manager out of the OneDrive folder. ( It might not always work, depending on your PC config.)
2- if you don’t use One Drive ( as Microsoft force it to install on users, especially on a new PC, even if you don't have any intention of using it. We suggest you uninstall it completely
